Transfer Housing

You are here

Transfer Housing
Housing Transfer Students is a priority for the Office of Housing Services and Lehigh University. There are many options for you depending on what your class status is upon entering the University.

Lehigh requires First and Second Year students to reside in University on-campus housing. If you wish to petition for exemption from the First and Second Year Student Residency Requirement, the deadline for Transfer Students is June 20th, 2025.

Undergraduate students who are in their third year or above can choose housing in a residence hall, a fraternity or sorority, Lehigh-partnered housing or an off-campus rental. If you are a member of a fraternity or sorority at your current institution and would like to inquire about residency if your chapter has a house on Lehigh's campus, please contact Fraternity and Sorority Affairs at (610) 758-4157 for more information.

The Office of Admissions will inform Housing Services when you have accepted admission.  We will be in contact with you once we receive this information and your Lehigh email has been generated. Scroll down to find information about filling out your Housing Contract if you would like to live on-campus.

Housing Contract

Hopefully by now you have had the opportunity to review your Lehigh Welcome Kit. As indicated in Section 2 - Live Lehigh, part of your responsibilities is to complete your online Housing Application by June 20, 2025 at 8 AM.

The Housing Application is available on the Lehigh Portal beginning June 4.

Step 1: Access and Sign the Contract

You will be able to access the online Housing Contract after you have completed the following steps

1. Submit your enrollment deposit to Admissions

2. Set up your Lehigh Single Sign-On and computing account

An email will be sent to your Lehigh email account when the contract is available.

To view and complete the contract, log into you Housing and Dining Self-Service Portal using your Lehigh username and password.

Under "Applications", select "Transfer Contract (Fall 2025)". Page one will ask you to read and sign the Housing and Meal Plan Contract.

Step 2: Preference Your Housing Style

Page two of the application will ask you to complete you housing preferences. There are a few selections you can make that will inform where you are placed.

- Accommodation Housing Requests: If you have a medical condition or religious need that requires special housing placement, provide this information as requested. See information on Accommodation Housing Requests for specific instructions. Accommodation requests are due by June 1, 2025.

- Select your gender preference: single gender, co-ed, or all-gender floor.

- Preference a single room if you wish to live by yourself. Single rooms are not guaranteed as they are limited in number.

- Indicate if you are interested in Theme Housing. If you do not select a theme, or if there are no more spaces available in that theme, you will be automatically placed into regular housing. You can indicate interest in up to 3 themes.

In this section, you will also choose a Meal Plan. Most students living on campus are required to have a meal plan through the University. Review Meal Plan Information for detailed descriptions of your options.

This contract must be submitted by June 20, 2025 at 8 AM. If you want to make changes to the information you have submitted, complete the Housing Contract online again - the new submission will replace the original one.

Students admitted after the deadline will receive information about housing the day after their enrollment deposit is processed and their Lehigh email is activated.

We can't wait to meet you in the Fall! Thank you in advance for completing the steps above in a timely manner so we can help you have a great start to your Life at Lehigh.
