Richards, a first-year residence hall, is the third building located at the south end of Taylor Street. Constructed of stone in modified Gothic design, the building honors the memory of Charles Russ Richards, president of the University from 1922 to 1935.
Richards houses 143 students on four floors. Students live in singles and doubles. All the rooms contain movable furniture, including a bed, desk, desk chair, dresser, and closet or wardrobe for each resident.
A TV lounge, study lounge, game room, kitchen, vending machines and laundry facility are on the first floor. There is also an outdoor basketball court located in the front of the building.
For the 24-25 academic year, Richards House 4th floor will be home to the Creative Arts theme community.
