Singleton, Hitch & Maida Houses is a three building residence hall complex for second year and upper class students. Singleton House is named after Charlot and Dennis Singleton ’66. Hitch House is named after Julie ’20P ’21P and Jordan Hitch ’88 ’20P ’21P. Maida House is named after Sharon and James Maida ’85 ’17P ’19P.
This residence hall complex is all-gendered and houses 405 students in air-conditioned suites. Each suite features a combination of single and double bedrooms (majority are double bedrooms), as well as a private bathroom. The movable bedroom furniture includes a bed, desk, desk chair, chest of drawers, and closet space.
The neighborhood design boosts community space activated by the programs it supports. The spine of the housing neighborhood creates a common circulation route open to the entire campus and provides access to key program spaces. Hitch House is home to the Hillside Café and a fitness center, and the first floor of each building houses a number of meeting spaces, study lounges, and classrooms. There is a common kitchenette space is every building, as well as TV and study lounges. Each of the upper floors is accessible by elevator.
