Every Day Quiet Hours
Schedule
Sunday through Thursday: 10:00 PM to 8:00 AM
Friday and Saturday: Midnight to 10:00 AM
Policy
Residents living in all University housing are required to respect the posted quiet hours as per the GPO. Disruptive noise infringes upon the right of others to study, sleep, or carry on necessary duties and functions at the University. Outside of the designated quiet hours, an occupant is expected to respond to reasonable requests from other residents to reduce noise if it is infringing upon others.
Prohibited Activities
- Loud music
- Yelling in person or on the phone
- Banging on walls or floors
- Vacuuming
- In Saucon Village specifically, doing laundry
Residents who are having trouble with a noisy neighbor should first talk to them politely to address the complaint. If the situation does not resolve, the resident can call LUPD, who will respond to the situation.
24-Hour Quiet Hours
All residents are required to respect the 24 hours quiet hours period on campus during finals week in the Fall and the Spring. This period begins after the last day of classes and runs through the last final exam.
Residents are asked to be respectful of their neighbors by limiting the amount of unnecessary noise in their living space (loud music, group events, slamming doors frequently, extended phone calls, etc.).
For Saucon Village residents, the Community Room is available to be reserved during the day for quiet events (no parties).
Facilities will stop any larger non-emergency projects during finals to respect the time that residents need to study. Maintenance will continue to work on apartments are respond to requests as normal.
