Residential buildings are open over Thanksgiving Break. Students remaining on campus must register on-line with Housing Services by 8 AM on Friday, November 15, 2024.
Dining
Students who have registered to stay over Thanksgiving Break may fill out the dining link in their confirmation email to order food. All food must be ordered by Monday, November 18th. Food orders will need to be picked up on Wednesday, November 27th at Lamberton Hall between 10am-12pm. Rathbone Dining Hall will be closed starting at 2pm on Tuesday, November 26th and reopen on Sunday, December 1st at 4:30pm. What do I need to know if I am leaving campus?
Student Property: Safekeeping of personal property is a student responsibility. It is recommended that students lock up valuables or take them home for the break. Lehigh University is not responsible for the theft or damage of student personal property at any time.
Residents Are Reminded To Do The Following Before Departing:
- Valuables should be taken home or put away out of view.
- Throw out any perishable food.
- Empty trash containers.
- Close and lock windows, turn lights off and lock the door.
Parking: Students with a valid parking permit may park their vehicle in their assigned parking area. Contact Parking Services at 610-758-3893 if you have any questions in this matter.
Undergraduate university housing at 9 am on Thursday, December 19, 2024 and will not reopen until 9 am on Saturday, January 18, 2025. However, we do recognize that there are certain groups and individuals who may need housing during the break. If you fall under one of the categories below and are in need of housing for any portion of the break, we ask that you follow the directions below based on your circumstance: If a request is needed, the deadline is Sunday, December 10, 2023.
International Students: Please fill out the "Semester Break Housing Request" located under "Applications" on your Housing Self Service Page by Sunday, December 8, 2024. Per University safety protocol, each building must have a minimum number of residents signed up to stay, in order for the building to be open for the break. If your building does not have a minimum number of students signed up to stay you will be asked to relocate. Please note that there are very few University resources available during the break and there is no active meal plan. You will be notified during the week of December 9, 2024 of the status of your request.
NCAA In-Season Athletes: You do not need to fill out the "Semester Break Housing Request". Athletics will submit the dates you need to be on campus and you will get a confirmation from our office the week of December 9, 2024. Per University safety protocol, each building must have a minimum number of residents signed up to stay in order for the building to be open for the break. If your building does not have a minimum number of students signed up to stay you will be asked to relocate.
Extreme Travel Issues and Other Extenuating Circumstances: Please fill out the "Semester Break Housing Request" located under "Applications" on your Housing Self Service Page by Sunday, December 8, 2024. It is important to note that this is a request and there is no guarantee that this request will be granted. The validity of your circumstance will be evaluated. Also, per University safety protocol, each building must have a minimum number of residents signed up to stay, in order for the building to be open for the break. If your building does not have a minimum number of students signed up to stay you will be asked to relocate. Please note that there are very few University resources available during the break and there is no active meal plan. Staying on campus during the break should be an absolute last resort and every effort should be made to leave campus for the break. You will be notified during the week of December 11, 2023 as to the status of your request.
Sorority Recruitment Participants: You do not need to fill out the "Semester Break Housing Request." The Office of Fraternity and Sorority Affairs will send our office the list of those participating in Sorority Recruitment. Those participating in Sorority Recruitment are permitted to return to Campus starting at 9 am on Monday, January 13, 2025. More information about Sorority Recruitment can be found HERE.
Sorority Members: You do not need to fill out the "Semester Break Housing Request." All Panhellenic members can return to campus starting at 9 am on Monday, January 13, 2025.

The Fall semester meal plan ends December 18, 2024 after lunch and the Spring semester meal plan will resume for dinner on January 18, 2025. Over semester break students may purchase a university meal plan to be used at Rathbone Hall from January 2nd through January 17th. Click here for more information regarding this meal plan. Deadline to sign up for this meal plan is December 18, 2024.
The only other retail location that will be open over semester break will be Common Grounds in Rauch Business Center. Click here for hours of operation.
The Offices of Housing Services, Fraternity & Sorority Affairs, and Residence Life hours during break are 8:15 AM - 4:45 PM, Monday - Friday except for the following days when the offices are closed to observe university holidays: Tuesday, December 24th, Wednesday, December 25th, and Wednesday, January 1st.
