First Year Housing

You are here

Welcome Home!
Congratulations on being admitted in the Lehigh University Class of 2029! At Lehigh, your education continues outside of the classroom. The residence halls are not only where you sleep, study and hang out, but also where you begin to put the puzzle pieces together - the intersections of your education, identity, and society.

Welcome Home!

Each residential building cultivates that sense of community through spaces on campus where students can meet and mingle. Think of it as one of the aspects of Lehigh that turns a campus into a community - your community. Each residential building cultivates that sense of community through spaces on campus where students can meet and mingle. So, meet the neighbors. Talk to your Gryphon. Grab a cup of coffee or a bite to eat and engage with us.

All of our students live in learning-enhancing environments that promote diversity and embraces excellence, encourages insightful faculty-student interactions and works to develop a strong sense of community. In addition to these experiences, we also offer Themed Housing Communities where students are able to live and learn around a certain topic of interest. We encourage you to seek out information on the Residence Life website to determine if a theme experience might be right for you.

As a First Year student, you will be assigned housing. For more information about our Residence Halls, please visit each building's webpage.

Housing Contract

Hopefully by now you have had the opportunity to review your Lehigh Welcome Kit. As indicated in Section 2 - Live Lehigh, part of your First Year Student responsibilities is to complete your online Housing Application by June 20, 2025 at 11:59 PM.

The date you submit your contract does not influence your placement or give you priority, but you must submit it by the deadline to be included in the process.

The Housing Application is available on the Lehigh Portal under the Summer Checklist beginning Wednesday, June 4 at 8 AM (EST).

Step 1: Access and Sign the Contract

You will be able to access the online Housing Contract after you have completed the following steps

1. Submit your enrollment deposit to Admissions

2. Set up your Lehigh Single Sign-On and computing account

An email will be sent to your Lehigh email account when the contract is available.

To view and complete the contract:
  • Log into you Housing and Dining Self-Service Portal using your Lehigh username and password.
  • Click the three small lines in the top left corner of the screen.
  • Under "Applications", select "FY (First Year) Housing Contract (Fall 2025)".

Step 2: Preference Your Housing Style

The application will ask you to complete your housing preferences. As a First Year student, you will not be selecting a specific residence hall - however, there are a few selections you can make that will inform where you are placed.

- Accommodation Housing Requests: If you have a medical condition or religious need that requires special housing placement, be sure to indicate that you have been in contact with the appropriate office. See information on Accommodation Housing Requests for specific instructions.

- Select your gender preference: single gender, co-ed, or all-gender floor.

- Preference a single room if you wish to live by yourself. Single rooms are not guaranteed as they are limited in number.

- Indicate if you are interested in Themed Housing. If you do not select a theme, or if there are no more spaces available in that theme, you will be automatically placed into regular housing. You can indicate interest in up to 3 themes. If you're not interested in joining a themed community, you can skip those questions.

In this section, you will also choose a Meal Plan. All First-Year students are required to have a meal plan through the University. Review Meal Plan Information for detailed descriptions of your options.

This contract must be submitted by June 20, 2025 at 11:59 PM (EST). If you want to make changes to the information you have submitted, complete the Housing Contract online again - the new submission will replace the original one.

Students admitted after the deadline will receive information about housing the day after their enrollment deposit is processed and their Lehigh email is activated.

Step 3: Roommate Profile and Selection

After you complete your Housing Contract, you will be able to complete your Roommate Profile and match with other students if you wish.

Your invitation to join MyCollegeRoomie, the system we use for roommate matching, will be sent to your Lehigh email 24-36 hours after your Housing Contract is submitted.

Roommate matching must be completed before June 21, 2025 at 11:59 PM (EST). For more information about MyCollegeRoomie and choosing a roommate, visit this page.

We can't wait to meet you in the Fall! Thank you for completing the steps above in a timely manner so we can help you have a great start to your Life at Lehigh.
