In the spring of 2023, Transportation & Parking Services announced an assessment, in partnership with FHI Studios, to evaluate our transportation and parking operations, policies, and procedures. The assessment included surveys and outreach sessions to gain feedback on a variety of topics from faculty, staff, and students with the intent of making adjustments for this coming academic year.
Based on the assessment, and a thorough review of our transit system, including ridership, demand, route performance, and resources, we will be making the following changes effective August 26, 2024:
- We are renaming the Goodman Express, Mountaintop Express and Saucon Express to the Goodman Connector, Mountaintop Connector and Saucon Connector.
- We will be operating one new bus route, the Mountaintop Direct, which will transport passengers directly between the Packer Avenue bus stop and the Mountaintop campus making the following stops: Jordan Hall, Building C, Iacocca Hall and ATLSS.
- We will be adding the ATLSS bus stop to the Mountaintop Connector, Saucon Connector and Campus Connector bus routes.
- Each route will have bus stops that they will stop at (referred to as a hard stop) to ensure consistent frequency. Aside from those “hard stop” bus stops, the buses will only stop at the bus stops if someone is waiting or a passenger has pulled the cord to request a stop. Hard stops are intended to provide time for shift changes, and to reset departure times. All buses will have a pull cord installed. Passengers of vans will need to make a verbal request.
