Fall 2021 Commuter Survey
In Fall 2021, the Office of Sustainability in collaboration with the Office of Institutional Research and Strategic Analytics administered a Lehigh Commuter Survey to all current students, faculty, and staff. The Commuter Survey provides key insights into commuting habits, parking zone preferences, as well as views on incentives to change behavior.
First Sustainability Strategic Plan 2030 Progress Report Released
Lehigh’s Office of Sustainability has released its first annual progress report on the university’s Sustainability Strategic Plan 2030, a 10-year plan that establishes a long-term vision for sustainability at Lehigh.
'Lehigh' Lights Up the Night
New Health, Science and Technology building is illuminated for the first time. The sign lighting was timed to coincide with Lehigh’s first-ever Farrington Square Light Up the Night event, at which students got free hot cocoa and cookies. The sign was switched on at the same time as colorful Christmas lights strung on the trees in Farrington Square.
Building a ‘Smart,’ Resilient Campus
A group of Lehigh undergraduate students is working with Ethan Yang, assistant professor of civil and environmental engineering, on a stormwater mitigation project designed to help the campus achieve one of the goals outlined in Lehigh’s Sustainability Strategic Plan 2030: develop a Stormwater Management Plan (SMP) by the end of 2021 that identifies green infrastructure and low-impact development (LID) projects, and provides guidelines for the design team to help mitigate stormwater runoff impacts and treat
Lehigh Sustainable Purchasing Policy
In support of Lehigh’s Sustainability Strategic Plan 2030, Purchasing Services has revised and strengthened the existing Sustainable Purchasing Policy. The goal of this policy is to ensure environmental and social considerations are included, along with the price, availability, and performance, as criteria that we use to make purchasing decisions.
